From the moment we were picked up from the hotel in Nairobi to being dropped off at White sands in Mombassa Johnson was with us every single step of the way. We saw every type of animal possible except the Rhino. We went Masai Mara, Lake Navaisha, Amboseli, Tsavo east and Tsavo west. Johnson took us on a magical ride, his knowledge, passion, professionalism and friendliness was absolutely 5* in every sense. He always briefed us the night before on what would be happening and times to meet etc, he has a sixth sense with the animals and knew their movements and where they would end up for getting those great pictures. He surpassed our expectations and we never imagined that would get so close to some of these animals, we were literally feet away from a feeding leopard with a fresh kill under a bush, obviously too tired and hungry to take the kill up a tree. It was amazing to see! We saw lions hunting buffalo, a cheetah walking in the open plains and then sitting on a mound checking out the territory. We saw hyena, hippos, warthogs, giraffes zebra and an array of other mammals and bird life. We honestly could not have wished for a better guide, Johnson was a big part of our safari journey and if we were to do it again to find that Rhino I would request Johnsonâs guidance again. We went to the following National Parks - Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Masi Mara. This trip has been on my bucket list for so many years, and it certainly did not disapoint. Big shout out to our lovely driver/guide Johnson who's knowledge of the animals was amazing. He also seemed to have a sixth sense as to where the animals would be. I know they use CB radios, but when we saw a hippo go under the water, he seemed to know just where it would re-surface, and place his vehicle accordingly. Also we saw a lioness walking through so some long grass, and drove way up the track so as she emerged, she calmly walked just in front of our vehicle.....something I just won't forget. The Accomodation's we had were good, very clean plus there was a wide range of food to choose from. Big tip - do not leave your door open as the monkeys are very quick to enter and will take absolutley anything. The highlight on the trip was that we were so lucky enough to see all the Big Five. I don't mean a glimpse of a rhino behind a bush but they were just lying by a watering hole having a snooze. plus a beautiful leopard up a tree was the icing on the cake! Be prepared for early starts, but boy it is all worth it!
