Day 1: Arrival - Welcome to Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our representative who will assist you with your luggage and transfer you to your accommodation at the Tamarind Tree Hotel. Once you check in, you can take the rest of the afternoon to relax and unwind from your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to add an optional excursion, such as a visit to the Giraffe Centre, where you can get up close with endangered Rothschild giraffes, or the Karen Blixen Museum, which offers a glimpse into Kenya’s colonial past. Enjoy dinner at your leisure or explore Nairobi’s vibrant dining scene. Overnight stay at Tamarind Tree Hotel on a Bed and Breakfast basis.

Day 2: Nairobi – Samburu

After an early breakfast, you will depart Nairobi and begin your scenic drive towards Samburu National Reserve, located in northern Kenya. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of the central highlands, passing by coffee and tea plantations and crossing the equator. Arrive at Samburu Simba Lodge in time for lunch, followed by some time to relax. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive in the stunning Samburu National Reserve, home to unique wildlife species such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx. As the sun sets, return to the lodge to freshen up before enjoying a delicious dinner. Overnight stay at Samburu Simba Lodge on a full board basis.

Day 3: Full Day – Samburu National Reserve

Start your day with an early morning breakfast before heading out on a thrilling game drive in the cool morning hours when wildlife is most active. Explore the rugged landscape of Samburu, following the Ewaso Ng’iro River, which attracts a variety of animals. After the morning drive, return to the lodge for some relaxation time. You may choose to take a refreshing dip in the pool or simply unwind at the terrace/balcony of your room, taking in the spectacular views of the reserve. Following lunch, embark on another exciting game drive in search of the Big Five and other fascinating species, before returning to the lodge at sunset. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at Samburu Simba Lodge.

Day 4: Samburu National Reserve – Aberdare National Park

Enjoy an early morning breakfast before checking out of the lodge. Depart for the beautiful Aberdare region, a lush and mountainous area known for its cool climate and abundant wildlife. Arrive at the Aberdare Country Club in time for lunch, where you can take in the serene atmosphere and stunning scenery. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to The Ark, a unique tree-lodge situated deep in Aberdare National Park. This lodge features various observation points, including a floodlit waterhole and salt lick that attract elephants, buffalo, and other animals throughout the day and night. Spend your evening watching wildlife from the comfort of the lodge, followed by a sumptuous dinner. Overnight stay at The Ark.

Day 5: Aberdare National Park – Lake Nakuru

After an early morning breakfast, check out and begin your journey towards Lake Nakuru National Park, known for its stunning flamingo-filled shores and diverse wildlife. En route, enjoy scenic views of the Great Rift Valley before arriving at the lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, set out on a game drive through the park, where you may spot rhinos, lions, leopards, and a variety of bird species. Marvel at the breathtaking scenery as you explore the park, and as the sun begins to set, return to the lodge for dinner. Overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara Ntional Reserve

Enjoy an early breakfast before departing for the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. Drive through the picturesque countryside, passing by local villages and vast open plains before arriving at the lodge in time for lunch. After some rest, head out for an afternoon game drive in the reserve, home to the Big Five and a vast array of other wildlife species. The Maasai Mara is renowned for its dramatic landscapes and incredible wildlife sightings, making every game drive an unforgettable experience. As the sun sets over the savannah, return to the lodge for dinner. Overnight stay at Mara Simba Lodge.

Day 7: Full Day – Maasai Mara National Reserve

After an early breakfast, set out on a full-day game drive to explore the vast expanse of the Maasai Mara. The reserve is home to an abundance of wildlife, and if you’re visiting during the Great Migration season, you may witness thousands of wildebeests and zebras crossing the Mara River in search of greener pastures. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the wilderness, or return to the lodge for a relaxing break before heading out for another game drive in the afternoon and also pay a visit to a local Maasai village, where you can learn about their traditional way of life, customs, and dances. After a full day of adventure, return to the lodge for a well-deserved dinner. Overnight stay at Mara Simba Lodge.

Day 8: Departure (Maasai Mara – Nairobi)

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and begin your journey back to Nairobi. Enjoy a scenic drive through the rolling hills and open plains, reflecting on the incredible experiences of the past week. Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward journey.

Optional: If time permits before your flight, you may choose to explore Nairobi’s shopping centers, local markets, or enjoy a farewell meal at a renowned restaurant before departing.
