DAY 1: Nairobi to Tsavo East
Meals: Lunch, Dinner | Stay: Ashnil Aruba Lodge

Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. After a safari briefing, depart in a private 4x4 Land Cruiser and head southeast along the Nairobi–Mombasa highway, passing local villages and scenic savannahs.

Arrive at Tsavo East National Park in time for lunch at Ashnil Aruba Lodge, a charming lodge set near the Aruba Dam with open views of the surrounding plains. After check-in and a brief rest, head out for your first afternoon game drive in the park.

Tsavo East is known for its iconic red elephants, rolling plains, and huge herds of buffalo, zebras, giraffes, and antelope. Lions and cheetahs also roam these open landscapes, making this a rewarding Big Five safari destination. Bird lovers will also enjoy sightings of hornbills, eagles, and storks along the Galana River.

Return to the lodge for dinner, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere as you listen to the sounds of the wild under a starlit African sky.

DAY 2: Tsavo East – Full Day Safari and Aruba Dam Wildlife Encounters
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner | Stay: Ashnil Aruba Lodge

After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive across the diverse terrain of Tsavo East. The expansive grasslands and sparse acacia trees make it easy to spot wildlife, making this one of the best destinations for photography safaris in Kenya.

Visit the banks of the Galana River, where crocodiles and hippos are often seen, and keep your eyes peeled for leopards resting in the trees. The area around Aruba Dam is especially productive for wildlife sightings—elephants, warthogs, waterbuck, and even prides of lions regularly come to drink here.

Depending on your preference, enjoy a packed lunch at a picnic site within the park or return to the lodge for a hot meal and a short rest before continuing your afternoon game drive.

As the golden light of the late afternoon bathes the landscape, capture incredible photographs of elephants kicking up red dust or herds of impala silhouetted against the sky. Return to Ashnil Aruba Lodge in the evening for a relaxed dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 3: Tsavo East to Nairobi – Morning Drive and Scenic Return
Meals: Breakfast | Optional: Day Room and Lunch in Nairobi

After an early breakfast, enjoy a final short game drive as you exit the park. Watch for early risers like jackals, hartebeests, and secretary birds making their morning rounds.

Begin your return journey to Nairobi, taking in the wide-open views and colorful rural scenes along the highway. If your flight departs later in the day, you may opt for lunch and a day room in Nairobi (at extra cost) to freshen up before your transfer.
